PictureIva— Lead Vocals, Guitar
Besides singing from a very early age, Iva started playing in a guitar duo with her best friend (a guitarist and drummer) from grade school.  They played together in Keepers of the Watch during the latter part of high school. Upon college graduation, she joined her first full-time band, a nine-piece show band called Home Cookin' sharing the fronting responsibility with a male front and toured playing large venues in the Boston area.
When she left Home Cookin', she joined Shady Lady, touring the New England states playing the higher-end show and dance circuit.  She met Paul, her husband, in this group and they later went on to form Fortune, a five piece band with other professionals, and later joined 53rd Avenue, still touring in New England.
After settling in Indiana, getting "back to her roots," Paul and Iva formed the first Emerald City band in the late 80’s and enjoyed great success playing in clubs, and parties. This group had a great following and many gigs in central Indiana, even playing the Vogue and Radisson on occasion.
They folded Emerald City to start a family and raise their children. During the years between, they worked with children and teens in their church directing the youth band, covering contemporary religious songs from the radio and enjoying every minute of it.
Desiring to form a very strong cover band with experienced players, they decided to put Emerald City back together and were very fortunate to meet three very experienced professionals with the same desire to play great music paying attention to the details of the sound.  T
he "21st Century version" of Emerald City played throughout central Indiana from 2012-2017.  StarScape draws on the heritage of the latter band, while adding more excitement for our audience of TODAY!

PicturePaul— Keyboards, Vocals
Paul started his first band with his best friend-- a guitar player-- in the summer between 6th and 7th grade.  With the quick addition of additional friends-- bassist and drummer-- the band was complete.  This band-- The Federation-- got their first paying gig when the players were still 7th graders, and stayed together all the way through high school, playing dances and parties for their teen-aged peers, and even winning 2nd place among much older competitors in a "Battle of the Bands."
Although The Federation disbanded as the players went off to college, 3 of them soon reunited in Main Street, which became one of the hottest bands in the South Coast area of Massachusetts.  Later, Paul played full-time in other popular bands including The Cordials, Shady Lady (where he met future wife Iva), Fortune, and 53rd Avenue.
After moving to Indianapolis, Paul and Iva formed the original Emerald City in the late 80's, and then the "21st Century version" of Emerald City from 2012-2017.
StarScape draws on the heritage of the latter band, while adding more excitement for our audience of TODAY!
Paul utilizes multiple keyboards to cover the piano, organ, and synth essentials in StarScape's music, while adding the textures of strings, horns, and more to round out the sound, contributing to the unique and exciting soundscape that StarScape brings to each performance.

PictureAlisa– Lead Vocals
Alisa likes to say that without music she wouldn’t be alive, as her parents are dedicated, lifelong musicians who originally met in a band. That somehow translated right into her blood. Alisa is a passionate, classically trained vocalist, beginning her vocal training as a child, and winning "firsts" in state competitions such as ISSMA— both solo and with various choirs— and continuing it into adulthood. Her thirst for music led her to write much of her own music, dabbling in the little bit of guitar and piano that she picked up along the way. She highly values her classical training and still enjoys singing classical pieces, but her heart lies in rock and soulful music. While she has performed on different platforms, from weddings to a very brief stint as a vocalist and rhythm guitarist in Bargain Priced Religion, and collaborated with a couple of local indy bands/artists for a song here and there, she is most excited to add her experience to the sound of StarScape as a vocalist, joining the other incredible musicians in the band to produce a dynamic, finely polished sound that any audience is sure to remember.

PictureCurt— Bass, Vocals
    Curt bio coming soon...

PictureTom— Lead Guitar, Vocals
Tom is a veteran performer with nearly 40 years of stage and studio experience, spanning the country from LA to Houston TX, Northern Virginia, and now right here in Indiana.  Before moving to Indianapolis and joining StarScape, he was a founding member of Mary Lou and the Drugstore Lovers, cranking out some of the hottest Classic Rock in the Washington DC area.  Tom was also the long-time lead guitarist for Fat Chance, one of Northern Virginia’s premier party rock bands.  On Sundays in Virginia, he played lead guitar for the Spirit Wind praise band at his church.  The breadth and depth of his band experience also includes Brunette Sky (classic rock), Grace Thru Faith (contemporary Christian), Prophets of Syrinx (Rush tribute), After 10 (classic and modern rock), Powered Flight (original and classic rock), MinT (modern rock), Zamboni (original rock), and his first high school band The Source (original rock).  When he isn’t jamming on guitar, he enjoys hanging with his family and new grandson, working on old Porsches, collecting replicas of famous guitars, and helping NASA send people into the "real StarScape."  Tom’s main guitar influences are Alex Lifeson, Jimmy Page, Brian May, and David Gilmour, with a dash of the late great EVH, which he blends into a unique signature sound that is a great compliment to the rest of StarScape’s talented musicians.

PictureDavid Miller— Drums, Percussion
Dave Miller grew up in Martinsville, Indiana and has been playing drums for close to 40 years, starting at age eleven.  But he has been around music all his life, since his father was a working drummer while Dave was growing up.  While in school Dave played in all the school bands such as the Symphonic, Jazz, and Marching bands, and has played in various original and cover bands around Indianapolis over the past thirty years.  Dave enjoys listening to and playing a wide range of music and has a wide variety of influences.    Dave’s first drum influence was his father who— most importantly— taught him the value of being able to keep good time as a drummer.  He vividly remembers his father telling him that he could play all the fancy stuff in the world but if he couldn’t play it simple when needed and keep good time, then no one would want him as their drummer.  Dave considers this the most important lesson he was taught as a drum student.
He was also influenced early on by Buddy Rich and a couple other big band drummers, but then came Van Halen with their classic 1984 album and he was hooked on rock and hard rock music.  A year or so later as he moved into high school a fellow drummer and upper classmate introduced him to the band Rush and their well-known drummer Neil Peart.  Rush would come to be his favorite band of all time along with Neil Peart being his biggest drummer influence after his father.
In his off time from playing drums, Dave is an avid bass fisherman and loves spending time with his children and grandchildren.
